what if eating only meat actually fixes ibs?

I was just thinking about this bizarre food trend where people eat nothing but meat—like, no salad, no bread, only meat. Imagine that. And now there’s chatter about it being the next big thing for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Could you even?

So, apparently, the carnivore diet is not just for those gym bros who think they’re cavemen or something. There are actual whispers in the health community that it might be beneficial for IBD sufferers. Who would’ve thought cutting out plants could be the answer? (Does this also mean saying goodbye to kale smoothies? Asking for a friend.)

Anyway, I read somewhere in this article or maybe it was a blog post—honestly, they all blend together—that the idea is our gut might not love all those fibers. Like, imagine your digestive system throwing a tantrum every time you have a spinach leaf. That’s what some folks facing IBD feel, apparently. Which makes then chewing on a steak sound way more peaceful.

Now I’m no dietitian, but I gotta admit, hearing that people have had some weird success stories going full-on carnivore is kinda intriguing. There’s this whole argument about eliminating foods that spike inflammation…and voila, meat-only paradise. (Paradise also means zero dessert because cookies aren’t carnivore-friendly. Bummer.)

But let’s also be real. Eating just meat sounds both kind of awesome and awfully tedious. Like, have you seen the price of beef these days? Plus, what about the joy of devouring a pizza? Eh. My stomach’s confused just imagining it. Plus, there’s cholesterol to think about, right? Or is that just outdated dietary dogma?

My head hurts trying to figure out how this all fits together with the current food pyramid (or whatever they call it now).

My eyes still hurt. I need coffee. Ugh.
